Premiere Revival of Verdi’s Opera “Don Carlos”

The premiere revival of “Don Carlos”, the opera by Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by the guest conductor from Spain, Maestro Sergio Alapont, will take place on 28 February at 7:00 p.m. on the Main Stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade.
The direction by Mladen Sabljić (his final direction still in the repertoire of the National Theatre) has been revived by Ivana Dragutinović Maričić.
The cast includes Nenad Jakovljević / Ivan Tomašev (Philip II), Sanja Kerkez / Jasmina Trumbetaš / Sonja Šarić Kosovac (Elisabeth), Dušan Plazinić / Janko Sinadinović / Dejan Maksimović (Don Carlos), Dragana del Monaco / Ljubica Vraneš / Sanja Anastasia / Željka Zdjelar (Princess Eboli), Dragutin Matić / Vladimir Andrić / Vuk Zekić (Rodrigo), Aleksandar Stamatović / Miloš Milojević / Mihailo Šljivić / Nenad Jakovljević (Grand Inquisitor), Vuk Matić / Mihailo Šljivić / Miloš Gašić (Friar), Nevena Đoković / Milica Strahinić (Tebaldo, page), Milica Strahinić / Isidora Bogdanović / Mirjana Begenišić (Voice from Heaven), and Slobodan Živković / Damjan Mišić (Count of Lerma, Royal Herald).
As guest soloists, baritone Serban Vasile and tenor Daniel Magdal from Romania will perform.
The Orchestra, Choir, and Ballet of the National Theatre in Belgrade also participate in this four-act opera.
The set designer is Vladimir Marenić, costume designer Ljiljana Dragović, and choreographer is Vladimir Logunov.
The first repeat performance will take place on 4 March at 7:00 p.m.
