Millennium in Belgrade
dramatization Кatarina Тodorović based on the novel by Vladimir Pištal
A Word from the Director
“Millennium in Belgrade” is a chronicle of an era told through the eyes of the city - marvelous, dreamlike, and cursed - as we follow a generation of young people who embody it and resemble it through a group of five best friends. During the social changes marking the transition from communism to socialism and the breakup of Yugoslavia, the pillars of their world collapse and their ideals begin to fade. With the arrival of the new millennium, the inner and outer destruction of Belgrade makes those young people who once dreamed of the city, felt it, and lived it, now reject it, resent it, and some even leave it. Despite the frequent helplessness of its residents, the city remains magical and forever open to all those willing to continue dreaming it, for a city is its people and people will never stop giving that city new eyes.
