OPENING OF THE NATIONAL THEATRE’S 146TH SEASON ON 1 OCTOBER WITH PERFORMANCE OF CARMEN, WITH JADRANKA JOVANOVIĆ IN TITLE ROLE

Performance of opera Carmen, by Bizet, with primadonna Jadranka Jovanović in the title role for the first time in the production, will open the 146th season of the National Theatre in Belgrade on Wednesday, 1 October (19:00 h), on the Main Stage.
Primadonna Suzana Šuvaković Savić interprets the role of Micaëla, while the principal singer of the Opera, Dejan Maksimović, will interpret the role of Don José.
Under the baton of Ana Zorana Brajović, the following singers will perform as well: Aleksandar Stamatović (Escamillo), Ivanka Raković Krstonošić (Frasquita), Ljubica Vraneš (Mercédès), Danilo Stošić (Le Remendado), Pavle Žarkov (Le Dancaïre), Aleksandar Pantelić (Moralès) and Vuk Matić (Zuniga).
The Orchestra, Choir and the Ballet Ensemble of the National Theatre in Belgrade will also participate in the performance.
Geroslav Zarić designed the set, Katarina Grčić Nikolić designed the costumes and Emilija Jovanović choreographed the production.
The production of Carmen, opera in four acts, directed by Nebojša Bradić, had three equally important openings – 24th and 25th March and 7th April, on the Main Stage.
