Dragoljub Bajić
Dragoljub Bajić, born in Belgrade on 22 February 1976, opera singer and professor.
He began his musical education at the “Stanković” Music School under Prof. Ljubica Živković and completed both his Bachelor’s and Doctoral studies in solo singing at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Nikola Mijailović.
He is a laureate of numerous domestic and international competitions, including “Vojislav Vučković,” “Petar Konjović,” “Lazar Jovanović”, and he also won international competitions such as “Music Youth” (Muzička omladina) in Belgrade (2008) and “Elena Teodorini” in Romania (2013).
As a scholarship holder of the MusikTheater Foundation in Vienna (2006–2008), he was recognised as one of the most promising young voices in the Balkans. Since 2009, he has collaborated with Riccardo Muti, performing in concerts in Salzburg, Ravenna, and Florence, which was followed by an invitation to the Vienna State Opera.
Throughout his career, Bajić has performed in prestigious opera houses and concert halls worldwide, including Vienna, Salzburg, Dubai, Seoul, Florence, Moscow, Bucharest, and others. In the National Theatre in Belgrade, he was awarded the title of Principal Opera Singer in 2017.
He earned his PhD at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 2023, where he actively teaches as an Assistant Professor. His interpretations are praised as inspiring, technically meticulous, and deeply musical.
At the session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia held on 3 July 2025, he was appointed Acting Director of the National Theatre in Belgrade.
